I began to paint this during the summer last year. My inspiration was a black and white photo taken by my brother in law many years ago. He was a professionnal photographer and he took this one for an exhibition of ancient aprons.

wow..this is so beautiful! The details on the fabric are just wonderful. The very sparse setting, and the woman's posture makes the title you have chosen very believable. Very nicely done! :hug: :)

She looks almost sad, like she's tired of waiting. I adore the floral pattern on her dress though. Makes the piece look even more dated. :)
This is fabulous Moniki, the folds in her apron are exceptional, she looks so resigned to her plight, I can actually feel her through this painting. Exceptional!
