All I can say is - be glad he is not suffering, and that he has his family around him. My grandmother went that way, and although I was very sad I also knew there could be no better way for her to go. Very little pain and the love of her family around her.
I hope you find strength within each other to make his passing a happy one (as odd as that may sound) and that you will see each other again on the other side.

I hate this news. Everyone does. I've heard it once. It ended up being quicker than what we thought. I was there to see my grandpa pass away, which i find was good to be there instead of getting a bad call, but i do always have these images in my head to this day.

This is the time when family matters most. Stick together. It helps a lot.
